Amazon Wholesale from the UAE: Plan Your US Launch
Planning an Amazon wholesale business from the UAE? Work through supplier access, US inventory, buying economics and account operations before ordering.

Running an Amazon wholesale business from the UAE starts with a practical question: who will do the work between buying a product and getting it into a US customer's hands?
A seller account is one part of the answer. Supplier access, product eligibility, cash flow, preparation and ongoing account management matter just as much. This guide is for UAE-based founders considering resale of existing branded products in the US, rather than manufacturing a new private label range.
Define the market before the company setup
Write down where your business is based, which Amazon marketplace you want to sell in, where you intend to source stock and where that stock will be held. Selling on Amazon.ae and selling on Amazon.com are different operating plans.
Use Amazon's Global Selling overview as a starting point, then confirm the registration requirements that apply to your actual business and target store. Ask qualified advisers about the company, tax and import arrangements for your circumstances before paying for a structure sold as a universal solution. UAE residence by itself does not answer those questions.

Build a supplier shortlist you can actually use
A long list of distributors is not yet a sourcing strategy. Ask each potential supplier whether they serve your business, permit your proposed sales channel and can supply the products and documentation you need. Record minimum orders, payment terms, lead times and any territory restrictions.
Check product and brand selling requirements in your own account before committing to inventory. Keep genuine invoices and correspondence. Do not assume a document will guarantee approval: Amazon can request additional information, and the applicable requirements can differ by product and account. Review Amazon's reselling guidance alongside your account notices.
Choose the stock route, then calculate the order
Stock sourced in the US and stock imported into the US create different work. Map the actual route rather than automatically sending goods through the UAE. A freight or customs specialist should confirm what is required for the proposed shipment and who carries each responsibility.
Build an order sheet with purchase cost, transport, any applicable import costs, preparation, inbound delivery, selling fees, fulfillment, storage and an allowance for returns. Show the result in the currency you use to make the buying decision, with an allowance for conversion costs and exchange-rate changes.
Test a lower selling price and slower sell-through. If the opportunity depends on every unit selling quickly at today's price, it may be too fragile for a first order.
Plan the US operation before stock arrives
Choose fulfillment based on the products, order volume and operating requirements. If using FBA, check the current shipment and preparation instructions for those products. A warehouse or preparation partner should know exactly what they are receiving, what checks they perform and where exceptions go.
- Assign responsibility for damaged goods, missing units and inbound discrepancies.
- Agree who monitors account notifications and restricted or inactive offers.
- Keep purchase records, shipment records and stock movements accessible to the account owner.
- Define who approves price changes and repeat orders.
- Plan returns and unsellable stock before there is a problem.
Manage across the time difference
For a UAE founder, a clear handover with US suppliers and logistics partners is more useful than a promise of constant availability. Agree response windows, an urgent-issue route and a weekly review that covers cash committed, available stock, sell-through and upcoming buying decisions.
Separate supplier performance from account performance. Slow replenishment, a weak buying decision and an inactive offer need different fixes. A single sales number will not show which one is affecting the business.
